Woensdag 18 april 2012 is de Amerikaan Neal Black te gast bij Bluesmoose radio. Zoals gewend worden daar opnames gemaakt zowel audio als video voor het Blues radio programma Bluesmoose radio. Bluesmoose radio wordt momenteel uitgezonden bij drie lokale omroepen te weten omroep Groesbek, Omroep Unique Fm en sinds kort ook NIma Fm de lokale omroep voor Gennep en Mook en Middelaar. Daarnaast is Bluesmoose radio inmiddels een begrip in blueswereld niet in de laatste plaats door hun website. Wereldwijd hebben zij tienduizenden luisteraars.
Inmiddels zijn er al meer dan 35 zogenaamde bluesmoose cafe opnames gemaakt.
Deze speciale omroep opnames zijn in Cafe bar de Comm , Dorpsstraat 12, te Groesbeek. De entree is gratis.
Neal Black and the Healers.
Black uit San Antonio Texas, is een van de belangrijkste Amerikaanse vertegenwoordigers van de Blues muziek vandaag de dag. Zijn muziek is geworteld in Texas traditie. Neal Black is geen imitator maar een vernieuwer. Een krachtige performer, een begaafde songwriter en een voortreffelijke gitarist.
Neal Black is een van de grootste blues-talenten die Texas de laatste 10 jaar heeft voortgebracht. Black is sinds de dood van Screamin’ Jay Hawkins en John Campbell, de koning van de voodoo blues. Donkere, occulte thema’s hebben altijd een rol gespeeld in Black’s muziek en op het album “Handful of Rain” is het niet anders, verhalen van New Orleans zwarte magie lopen door het teksten. Neal Black verhaalt hier met flink doorrookte stem over dertig jaar Blues in elektrische tracks à la Peter Green en Johnny Winter
Black’s krachtige gitaar werk en krachtige zang, plaatsen hem op een lijn met Ronnie Earl en Johnny Winter. Aangrijpend en indrukwekkend. Een vergelijking met de bekende Tom Waits’ stem is niet toevallig. Beide zijn ze rauw en ongepolijst en daarom zo mooi.
